Frequently Asked Questions
Do you accept insurance?
Please note that I am currently not accepting insurance. Payment is expected at the end of service. I’m happy to provide receipts for you to submit to your insurance provider for potential reimbursement.
Do you accept HSA or FSA payment options?
We accept all major credit cards including those involved with HSA and FSA.
What are your practice policies?
Consistent attendance, active participation in therapy, and follow-through with assigned home programs are essential for therapeutic success. Clients are expected to maintain a minimum 75% attendance rate each month.
If attendance falls below this threshold due to excessive cancellations, Speech Lane Therapy Services will require one of the following:
Make up the missed session within one week
Pay a $50 holding fee to retain your reserved appointment time.
If you are unable to reschedule or pay the holding fee, Speech Lane Therapy Services may either:
Place you on a waitlist until a new time slot becomes available
Cancel all future appointments, complete a discharge summary, and discontinue services.
If you arrive late, your session will still end at the originally scheduled time unless your clinician can reasonably extend it without impacting other clients or the schedule.
Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice, as well as no-shows, will incur a $50 fee.
What is required before my first appointment?
Signed consent documents and completed intake forms will be required prior to your first appointment. If you have difficulty accessing the client portal, please call or email us to help with troubleshooting.
Is an evaluation required prior to therapy?
All clients must complete an initial consult prior to receiving therapeutic services to determine if an evaluation is warranted and to create an appropriate, up-to-date plan of care. We will accept recent evaluation reports that have occurred in the last 6 months in the areas of concern.
How long is treatment?
While we wish we could provide a definitive timeline, the length of treatment depends on a variety of factors, including the severity of the disorder, how the client responds to therapy, motivation from both the client and family, relevant medical, educational, and family history, individual personality traits, and the consistency of practice and carryover at home
Is there a travel fee?
A travel fee may apply depending on the mileage of your location. The specific fee will be discussed and agreed upon prior to scheduling.
